4 Interesting Things about Arizona Sheriff Paul Babeu Admitting Gay Affair With Mexican Immigrant

Wow. Lot’s of places to go on this one, but two salient points we should consider. Pinal County Sheriff of AZ Paul Babeu admitted over the weekend to being gay and having an affair with a Mexican migrant. This came after a shock wave report by the Phoenix New Times.

While Babeu did not resign from office, he did resign from his position on the Mitt Romney Arizona Presidential team. Babeu also says he is committed to continue his congressional bid. Before people go and get all homophobic on Babeu we should point out four interesting things about this situation.

1. Paul Babue is a hypocrite.

By advocating  harsh anti-undocumented policies for local police and himself being one of the leading deporters among law enforcement Babeu helped to create the hysteria and racist populism against Latino immigrants in Arizona. His constant media hunger led him to a competition with Maricopa County Sheriff Evil Joe Arpaio. All of this while Babeu and Arpaio both called for punishment against “those that harbor” undocumented immigrants. Seems like Babeu himself was doing a little more than harboring his self Gay partner Babeu claims was undocumented.

2.Babeu did not honorably come out Gay, he got busted because he tried to hide it.

Before you give Babeu credit for coming out gay note that this all came to be public when Babeu’s ex went to the press with Babeu’s threat to deport him if he ever outed Babeu. What a mess. But clearly Babeu would have never been caught unless he had threatened his ex lover, or if anyone had pinned him to his online gay dating profile. As one reader on LGTBQ Nation noted,

“Most gay Gop politicians or government employees are closeted and so easy to blackmail so they pull these creepy tricks on their lovers but it always backfires on them and then they switch sides and become gay activists because they have no other options”

3. Paul Babeu should be investigated for extortion.

The allegations against the Sheriff are serious. If proven, he is clearly guilty of extortion and abuse of power. Babeu’s admitted ex lover told the Phoenix New Times Babeu’s lawyer tried to force him to sign a confidentiality agreement or risk deportation. That is extortion and abuse of power, if proven. This is not Tony Soprano’s nephew trying to get a kick back from a coffee shop, THIS IS A HEAD OF A LAW ENFORCEMENT Department.

4. Paul Babeu wears funky underwear.

Just look at the picture. I’m done. Sorry kids! No word yet if the National Sheriff’s Association will take back his 2011 “Sheriff of the Year” Award.

    this is the biggest crock of crap…. Here is my list of 4 things to ponder while reading this article, along with other arguments made about Sheriff Paul:

    (1)  New Times is a HORRIBLE source.  I am a huge suns fan and read an article back in the day in a new times.  The article was about Steve Nash quitting basketball to enter into Canadian politics….. the article was rescinded, like many of New Times articles.  Classic Stephen Glass type stuff.  The New Times is free because they could NEVER ask for money for that garbage. More than half the magazine is ads. I have seen more bums use the New Times as sleeping aids, then I have seen intellectual people making intellectual comments about an article written in the New Times. Just another tabloid. 

    (2)  Arguing with many people on this exact subject, I have heard that this immigrant had a visa at one point.  But on this website, you criticize the Sheriff for harboring an illegal…… so what is it Dems… is this “Jose” character legal OR not.  If he is legal then their is NO argument on your part because that doesn’t make Paul a hypocrite. I could just as easily take the argument that “He was legal when the Sheriff had his affair, and then his visa expired after the affair was over” But I don’t spread RUMORS.

    (3)  If you want to call out hypocrites…. lets call out the big man Obama. Go ahead and click this link:

    (4) When reading all these articles and the comments on them….. it almost seems that the supporters of the article are anti-gay.  They make it seem as if, because the Sheriff is gay, then HE MUST have threatened this kid.  WHERE IS THE PROOF!! What? just because his name showed up on some texts… I can go down to my local Walmart and pick up 2 go phones and save the number from phone #1 in phone #2′s address book, then write texts back and forth to myself.  Then, post them online and wait for all the judgements again WHOEVER I DECIDE TO OUST.  

    Should I do this and have “Obama” come out as a Kenyan? Some of you liberals will believe ANYTHING that is written by the liberal media…. notice how you never hear the term “conservative media”. Everything you hear on TV news is catered to the LIberal party except FOX who I will agree caters to the conservatives….. but who is Fox put up against, CNN, MSNBC, The New York Times, News week, ABC, NBC, CBS, Bill Maher… the liberal outlets go on forever. My point being that YOU CANNOT BELIEVE ANYTHING YOU SEE ON TV, you must investigate on your own using your best judgement on what to believe and what to throw away as garbage….. If someone asked me what journalistic entity is filled with the most lies, garbage, irrelevant, and downright dishonest articles, I would shout “NEW TIMES” before their sentence was even done.

       Babeu has admitted all this. The lawyer also confirmed the Sheriff is his client regarding this. Babeu claims this guy is undocumented, that he is gay and that they had a relationship. If we can’t believe anything we see on TV we should go by what Babeu says. Plus this was in the Phx New Times and Babeu already admitted to most of it.

            my hero? no, my heroes are not Sheriffs in arizona. Not that I oppose them but I set my sites higher, reagan is more of a hero of mine. The points I am making have nothing to do with him being gay… it has to do with the lies and assumptions published by the nonsense that calls itself The New Times. They publish rubbish and have even admitted it when the public speaks out about their lies.  They hire people that have less journalistic integrity than Stephen Glass. 

            I could care less if he is gay, I only care about the parts of the article that claim that the UNNAMED ACCUSER was threatened… where is the proof. this is classic jumping to conclusions. There has been no proof presented whether this man was illegal or legal,  whether he is even an immigrant, whether he was illegal when the affair happened.  The pictures of the text messages just shows how ignorant and gullible you all are… I can easily replicate those photos by saving a random number as Sheriff Paul and then post them on the internet. 

            If the sheriff did do anything wrong I will not stand behind him…. HOWEVER I will NOT let the liberal media brainwash me into going against someone who has helped Arizona Immigration reform more than any other person.  HE IS GREAT AT HIS JOB.

      You need to hire a proof-reader, you are posting an article online under the assumption that you want people to take you seriously… and you say you have been in the field of education but almost every single article that you write is widely criticized for its grammar, spelling, and structure.  

      You can criticize my posts all you want because Im doing this from my couch and don’t pay to have a proof reader because I’m not publishing my work for money. I am giving my opinion.  Given this website, you have sunk a few shekels into the business you call “The Sound Strike”.  If I were you I would try a little harder in the fields of fact-checking, SECOND AND THIRD fact checkers, research, relevant topics to the subject, proof reading, and approval by a lead editor before publishing… this is normal practices for any media outlet

    “Jose”‘s status is unknown, for you to say that he is undocumented is misinformation. This blog post is terribly written and has a ton of atrocious grammatical and spelling errors. Please fix it as soon as possible.

      The undoc thing has been changed since it is not confirmed. Re: grammer, give me a break. I don’t follow all that elitist bullshit about grammer, blah blah blah. There was one misspelling of Bebau and it is fixed. Find something concrete to speak on.

        I can’t even make it to the second word without problems in grammar.  Following proper grammar (you even spelled grammar wrong in your response above) is a widely accepted and EXPECTED practice in ALL media outlets… you continually post news.. so that would make you a media outlet… please follow industry standards. And for you to write blah blah blah is actually MOCKING your readers who continually tell you that unless you have proper grammar, no one is going to take you seriously… you have enough money to pay for this site and research the subjects… I mean go to a college website and submit the articles to a proof reader at least.  Also, even though your grammar and spelling are atrocious, the main qualm I have is with the fact checking… You just keep posting stuff that is circumstantial and at this time is merely rumors…. stick to the facts.  If the facts aren’t there, don’t just make it up or assume what you want.  Journalism isn’t your interpretation, it is not for you…. it is for the public and, for that, you OWE it to the public to check your junk before you post it
