During these tough economic times, and tumultuous political environment International Woman's Day has an even greater meaning this year. We live in times where Women are increasingly not only the rock of our families, but also of our communities. For those involved in struggles for social and economic justice it is the Sisters front and center in the battles to fight off foreclosures, to organize workers, to end violence in our communities, to build self sustaining communities, and to stop the separation of immigrant families. Just like decades, and centuries before Women today are leading the way even if many fail to recognize this, appreciate it, and reward that leadership.
