Tomorrow marks the one year anniversary of the implementation of SB 1070. While parts of the racist bill were temporarily blocked the persecution and hunting of immigrants in Arizona continues. Join us at the first of many community based fundraisers in support of Arizona based organizations fighting anti-migrant persecution. All proceeds will benefit the PUENTE AZ Barrio Defense Committes Radio show in Phoenix, AZ, and the Coalicion de Derechos Humanos in Tucson, AZ. Live Silk Screening by Rageone, Spoken Word by Felicia Montes, Surprise Artist Panel, All AGES. Music, ART, Spoken Word, Taquero, Drinks, a good cause!

Fitter and Aztlan Underground will be joined by headliner and New York based Outernational.

The Show is being organized by the newly formed Los Angeles Sound Strike Committee. Members include: Russell Varner, Jennifer Sanchez, Adrian Vazquez, Nancy Arteaga, Jose Perez, Patricia Cardona, Jose Esquivel, Norma Casteneda, Laura Jaime, and Albert Ibarra. Directions:

Coming North: Take the 110 Freeway south. Take 10 freeway west and quickly get off on first exit “Washington.” Make first available left and then another left on Washington. Down about 500 yards on south side of street.
Coming West: Take 10 freeway east. Exit Normandie south. Make a left on Washington. Down 1-2 miles.
Coming East: Take 10 freeway west. Take 14A exit Los Angeles St. headed towards convention center. Merge into 17th St. Left on S. Main St. Right onto W. Washington.
Coming South: Take 110 Freeway North. Take exit 20C for Adams Blvd. Turn left onto W Adams Blvd. Take the 1st right onto Figueroa Way. Turn Left onto W. Washington. On left.

      The PUENTE BDC Radio show helps in informing migrants in AZ about important issues as well as giving them a space to voice their concerns, it’s a powerful organizing tool for the community in Phoenix. Derechos Humanos has been an important part of the struggle in AZ and overall in Southern AZ including Tucson.

    Art work from national artists, socially aware of the serious issues
    facing our communities, most notably SB1070 in Arizona.  This eclectic
    group of artists have come together in response to the injustices faced
    by the migrant communities in Arizona, to promote change there of.  The
    art show will run the entire length of the event but will be also have
    an intimate exhibition (6-8pm) available to all ticket holders.  The
    exhibition will include live installations by artists, dj’s, cocktails,
    and good vibes.  All funds raised by the sale of art work,  will go
    directly to the overall charity effort of The Sound Strike Benefit Show.

    We expect to sell out the show.  You don’t want to be standing outside, looking in at all of us having a great time for an outstanding cause!!!
    Buy those tickets!!!
